Tell me what you think :)

I've voted NO.

Why do we need it? Would it be to keep all GWX related threads out of the Mods/General SH3 section?

I may be a bit cynical but if most people can't use the search function too well then I doubt that many will notice a sub-forum.

Also more work for the Moderators...... :hmm: can I change my vote? :p LOL

In theory it might be good. In practice however, you will get some posts in the GWX forum and still a ton of them in the mods and regular SHIII forums. Then the random ones in the General forums and god knows where else.

I just thought it'd be easier on the users to keep GWX related things in one place, so they dont have to hunt for it as much :)

I voted yes because there is questions all over the forums relating to GWX. It would be nice to have it in one tidy forum. Sticky screenshots thread and a mod thread. Sticky Captains log forum. GWX has grown into a life of it's own and requires a special forum for it.

I voted no, because to be fair you would then have to have special forums for every big mod.

Of course it would help if everyone would stop posting all their GWX stuff in the regular SHIII forums and stick to the Mods forum.

I voted no because IMHO I don't think it would really help much. We'll still continue to see countless amount of threads created in other locations regardless. And as a consequence, it will just create more unnecessary work for Neal and the team here.

But it's a nice thought. ;)

P.S.: Either way, it's not a problem for me. All I do when I come to subsim is look for new posts. I can see everything I need to that way. :)

I guess the reason for that is how a question is perceived: is it a question about a mod (ex. how do I mod the deck gun) versus game performance running with a mod (ex. I'm running GWX and when I do (blank) I have (blank) happen).

The current forum structure stinks. A few weeks ago I´ve already made a few suggestion and I will discuss this again with Neal in the coming weeks. It´s unlikely that we change the SH3 forums, but there´ll be a better structure of the future SH4 forums.

Will there be changes in the vBulletin usage, or just in the current layout?

There´ll be more forums/sub-forums.

Thanx mate! I hope it will be as user-friendly as now, but i'll guess it will be even better.

The current forum structure stinks.

Are the joy of being a moderator. ;)

I voted no, if you give a sub forum to GWX there could be others calling for sub forums for the mods they run GW, NYGM and so on. I'm sure folk here know how to search out info and there is always some one out there who would help out.

I voted 'NO' because there's alot of stuff related to GWX, without properly belonging to GWX. Those browsing only the GWX forum might miss a such thread about an item that would increase their GWX experience - visual effects, new ships, all kind of other mods. For instance, if I were to ask whether a particular visual effect conflicts with GWX, where should I ask it? And GWX actually does belong to the family of super-mods for SH3, so its place is within the SH3 modding forum and SH3 general forum respectively.
Just my point of view.

I voted NO, all supermods are not standing alone but combine a lot of smaller ones and many users use a supermod as a baseline and and add/change some minor things.

Penelope_Grey

I also voted no too.

If you give the Grey Wolves their own section here, then the other modding teams... in the interest of fairness; should get their own forums too... So unless there is going to be one for Uberboot, WAC, and NYGM... then the answer for me is no.

GWX is part of SH3.

Two things:

1. Add a trailing asterisk and try again. Then you'll see that...

2. Searching simply for GWX* would be useless even if all GWX threads were in the one forum. I mean, nearly every thread makes some kind of reference to GWX, even if it's "GWX sux". Might as well just go through them all one by one. ;)

@jimbuna, that image looks suspiciously familiar. :hmm:
