No, the moon is there in GWX. You're just cathing it on moonless nights or have the bad luck of overcast clouds...believe me it's there and very pretty rising over the horizon when you're patroling....
You do know that there are times that the moon is not going to show right?
Not sure how much you know about astronomy but what you describe is called a New Moon..
New Moon - The Moon's unilluminated side is facing the Earth. The Moon is not visible.
As for partly cloudy...sounds normal to me depending on the season.I have had it go for days on end with nothing but clouds, clouds, clouds.

Bad luck!? No way! You're a silent Gray Wolf! You don't want the verdammnt moon shining on you when you make an approach to a convoy!
Trust me, the moon is in GWX and it is NOT your friend. :arrgh!:

Yep, there is definitely a moon in gwx, and it uses a nice hi-res texture. It even reflects off the water, its very pretty.
Personally I don't mind a bit of moon in gwx - otherwise its so damn dark you can't see the ships, even if your lookouts manage to spot them.

You can count on the moon assisting the escorts in detection but only providing you with better quality screenshots

The moon is a great eye-candy but deadly later in the war against well trained and equiped DDs.
Sail up to Murmansk and all, you get the sun and the moon in one view :)

Here is a scenario picture showing a lonely steam merchant whit the moon just above horizon in the background at the moment they are hit by an Eel.

Well a big hole in the hull :D

Nice, except it's the big huge moon from the stock game. I always use AIL's Small Moon Mod.

Its my own :)
I experiment a lot whit different damage textures that i make.
Hopefully i will soon reach the point where i have the guts to make it public :)
But its totaly impossible to make a good looking torpedo damage and the damage from a canon/gun. Coz they share same texture file.
But i dont care how it looks when a shell hit something. I want better eyecandy for a torpedo hit instead :)
This is my latest creation.
Only thing i dont like whit it is the white area around the hole. iam gona try and make it so it show up more darker so it simulate paint that have falling of the hull and smoke/dust from the impact.
But on another note ive seen on other real pictures that some impacts leave a white area around the blast point.

Thank you Jimbuna :) Allways good to hear nice words from an old swashbuckler :D
Some info for you...
The moon is always larger near the Horizon due to atmospheric distortion. As the light form the moon refracts through the atmospere to an observer where the mmon appears at or near the horizon it apears large to the observer.....
As te moor rises it begns to diminish in size as the distortion minimizes.
An object sitting alone in the sky appears smaller without reference to an observer.
People who stare at the moon in video games go "luny".....
People who expect Video games to be 100% in line with reality are "lunatics"
Lunatics spend a great deal of their time seeking asylum.....
Asylums seek a bit of their time seeking "lunatics"....
I can't beleive I wasted my time typing all the lunacy above....

I see that you did not play the stock game for a long time. The stock moon is small.

Can't be. AILantic made his small moon mod because the stock game's was too big.
Of course I haven't played anything in a long time, so my old memory may be failing me.
