Hello all, I'm embarassed to ask this but it has me scrathing my head.

I'm running SH3 1.4 with GWX and SH Cdr 2.7. For whatever reason, my event camera is greyed out in my options screen, so I can't turn it on.

I wouldn't care, as I haven't used it at all, but with the new "uber" destroyers in GWX (awesome in all respects by the way) I tend to dive full speed to 150m as soon as I fire my torps, and I like to check out my carnage from time to time.

So my question is, anyone know why this realism option is greyed out, and how I get it back?

Sorry to clog the forums with the dumb question.

GWX is a realism mod, designed to increase the immersion. The Event Camera is about as unrealistic as it gets. Of course, so are all the external views, but what can we do?

You should be able to use the event window
I do lol

Where were trying to enable it from ?
The realism settings ?

I am trying to enable it through my realism settings both on the main menu and prior to departing on my mission. I have never used it before GWX, so I never noticed it was greyed out before.

Any help is appreciated.

:hmm: Everybody are so ashamed by using external cam, somehow feeling they are doing something wrong. I am not, I use it all the time. Play the way you want, and dont listen to the 100%ers! The most important thing is that YOU are having fun.

I don't know why a lot of people are talking about "uber" destroyers in GWX just because they are not sitting ducks anymore... I don't find them more dangerous than in NYGM. You just need to have a little respect and try to stay away when you are not in a good position, which means that like in real life there will be many times where you will have to hide and run instead of attacking, and show some patience to wait for the good opportunities. Bad weather is your friend as long as there is no heavy fog associated with it...;)
Attacking escorted freighters by daylight and nice weather can bring you in a lot of trouble...

agreed on the destroyers. I like the fact that now I actaully have to be awary of them, instead of just ginoring them as a non-factor. I can' hang around at periscope depth and watch my torpedoes anymore...hence the view question.

any ideas?

Wait till you are back in port then you can try manually altering the main.cfg

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg

Open the main,cfg in notepad

[SETTINGS]
LoadingMovie=No
VoiceCommand=No
DisableMessages=Yes
EventCamera=Yes <---------Change to yes

You may also need to do the main.cfg in the SH3 folder in my documents too

Rollback SH3commander if you use it first
