So, where should I go? I'm thinking San Fansisco to see the sub there. Any ideas? Too bad they don't fly to Houston:nope: Dutch Harbor?

I would go to Seattle and take a ferry ride back and forth
over the Straits of (I can not spell that name) Juandefuka ...
It is just simply beautiful.

Maybe Torplexed can help you out ...
he's from Seattle, plus they have a big submarine base nearby ...

Just drive up to the main gate and ask if they give tours ...
Might work, but don't tell them I sent you ...

Have fun

If you haven't been to Washington DC yet, take a week off and check it out. The various Smithsonian museums will take at least two days. Especially with the new hangar at the airport which has a space shuttle, concorde, among other vintage planes.

Most of the time in DC you can ride the Metro and don't need car. Though it would be worth renting one at least one day to head out to Mount Vernon in the morning and Monticello in the afternoon.

I would go to Cancun-just avoid the place during spring break and hurricne season. From Cancun it is easy to get to Cuba-just under an hour away.

Go there if only for the cigars and to see a way of life that is now almost unique.Go quickly because it is not going to last much longer!

The Sub at SF is pretty cool but the perfectly preserved Liberty ship right behind her was the highlight of the visit I made. If you go I would also suggest crossing the bay to see the Red Oak Victory at Richmond. She's in the process of being restored and they let you have the run of the ship, save the engine room. Seeing a ship "raw" before being restored is even more interesting than afterwords IMHO:arrgh!:
