Major naval operations in GWX - Anyone been in the thick of one?

I'm hoping to get the chance to experience the 2nd Battle of Narvik. It's the evening of April 12th, 1940 and I'm in the Ofotfjord, just outside of Narvik.

I know historically the Warspite and a few DD's show up on the 13th. I'm in my big pig, a IXB and in shallow water. I don't plan on coming back from this patrol, but I'm going to give them a hell of a fight. :arrgh!:

i sank 50,000 tonnes in dunkirk harbor during the evacuation and while i was reloading my externals a convoy contact appeared and i intercepted steaming at ahead full sank another 40,000 tonnes there . best patrol to game date so far :rock: :rock: :know:

Well im out on patrol at the moment and it is around the 27th of April 1940 and the are many enemy taskforces runing around the the coast of Norway i wonder if i can run into one.:arrgh!:

I believe what you're seeing is the Allied pullback from Norway. Britain realized that while they were up playing in the snow they were getting their cans kicked in France and were going to have to shore up their defenses there.

Maybe you'll finish up that patrol in time to get back out and get over to Dunkirk and harrass the evacuation effort. :arrgh!:

I was in the Channel on June 5-7, 1944.

****ing incredible. I can't even begin to describe what it was like (aside from a substantial slowdown).

In order to avoid detection by the British DDs, I would bottom my boat at times. Other times I would head to within 3km of the French coast to keep away from them.

But by the time I reached my position (I entered from the Atlantic), I was near Sword on the afternoon of the 6th. If I wasn't so afraid of traveling at 20m in order to fire a torp from my boat (according to .cfg files, the VIIC has a max firing depth of 20m), I'd have gone up to cause trouble. But I just spent my time with the Free Cam, taking a look at the pretty.

I hope so mate my off time between patrols has been very small of late only 10 days between this patrol and are last one. Though iam using Sh3 commander to set the time in base to random.

Unfortunately the battles don't seem to be scripted. The initial invasion is scripted, but not the two battles of Narvik. I'm there too and was looking for the same thing.

Your not far off mate

There will be - hopefully - additional scripting for the spring update which should cover the Baltic/Norwegian theatres

I was hoping Safe K would have done it but :rotfl:
