I've been struggling with the various tools in the Nav screen. It seems the protracter and various other tools to determine heading are..well...backwards. Is it just me? Or am I missing something?
I need some advice on decent mods to calculate AoB and Target Heading. I've browsed throught the newbie guide and downloaded one or two of there things, but it seems those are the inverted tools! Help?!

Any advice on AoB calculation would also be appreciated. And no suggestions I run the English Channel at flank! Dammit  I'm running SH3 with the NYGM mod installed via JSGME, not that I notice any difference... patched up to date too. Another thing, wasn't the patch supposed to fix the fact that the idiotic Watch Officer always had to be chased back to the bridge with a broomstick?

I know this is posted a million times a day, but yeah...:damn:

I know the protractor looks backwards, but is actually correct... If you were to click on something and drag the line to the right (090), the right side of the protractor would say "270" (Sounds backwards), but the line would lay on the 090 mark(on the left side of the circle)... This way you can plot a long way and still know the correct degree at the end of the plot..

This is really useful when you have a long intercept and just a degree or two mistake could mean the difference of missing the target or not..

Good Luck...

*gives a dubious look at the protractor and shakes it a little*
Ok...
I'll play around with it and see... Thought using the angle tool to calculate AoB is awesome. That community manual  !!!!

I'm trying to answer this from memory as I'm out of the game (and going through withdrawals) for 10 weeks... I just remember thinking the same thing when I first started plotting..

Another helpful thing to do is to print out the degree list for all the headings ie: ENE, SSW, etc.. It'll help with the plotting and can be found on the Community Manual site..

Good Luck..
