I've finally bought another computer from Circuit City for $700. Firstly, this thing runs it like Lance Armstrong cycling in the Tour de France. It's a Gateway. The specs on it:
-2048 MB
-180 GB
-Dual-Core AMD Processors 4000+
-Nvidia GeForce 6100
The reason I have created this thread is to find out what types of computers you guys have and maybe, god willing, this thread will survive on here to provide a guide to people who want to compare their computer to what we have to run the game. Anywho, I'll wrap it up.
Good hunting!

I had to go with what I could afford:
Pentium 4 3 Gig
512MB RAM
160 Gig hard drive
ATI video card (don't remember what type)
Onboard sound
It runs okay, and I've had a lot of fun. Job first. Apartment next. Upgrades third. GWX fourth. SH4 fifth. Then I'll probably need a new system.:damn:

AMD opteron 165 oc'ed to 2.2 ghz
Asus A8VE-SE
BFG 7800 GT
OCZ platinum 2-3-2-5-1T 2GB dual channel ram

1 74 gb 10k raptor
thermalrock gaming tower case with 600 watt enermax liberty PSU
Just built this 2 months ago:
Intel 965LT MB
Intel Dual Core E6400 (2.13 ghz)
1gig Crucial DDR2
BFG 256mb 7600GTOC
Game Theatre XP 7.1
80gig Maxtor SATA
200gig Maxtor IDE
Antec 1050X 500watt Case
My specs for a 2 year old computer I built... my first homebuilt
Intel P4 3.2E (stock not oc'd)
Asus P4P 800E-Deluxe
XFX GF6800XTreme 256mb DDR3 RAM, 256 bit
2gigs PC3200 DDR Ram (2-512 sticks matched RAM/gig)
Maxtor SATA 120gig HDD
Thermaltake Xaser v1000A case
Now a question.
Is it possible to use SATAII with the Asus P4P 800E-Deluxe motherboard? I want to go to a 200gb Maxtor SATAII HDD I found today. Price of $79.00 on sale that I can't pass up. I was told by the manager that if the connections with SATAII are the same as SATA it could be possible, but he wasn't sure.

I found this on the Asus website. And will answer your question;
Intel is the world's first chipset maker to integrate Serial ATA (SATA) and RAID 0, 1 functions into the South Bridge. The latest ICH5R chipset now delivers 150MB/s fast data transfer (SATA) and striping performance to enhance computing efficiency.
Your friendly neighborhood PC tech :)

It doesn't matter because no hard drive uses the full bandwidth of SATA 1. I think the WD Raptors get close, but still.
@ elite_hunter_sh3: I hate you. You put all of our computers to shame, even mine.

NASA Military spec p50 at 5gig processor
Direct pipe to silicon valley for 1000 gig ram
Hard drive = Microsoft main server
Running sh3 at 27fps so I think I need to replace the microsoft components,
Ok the truth now

Thanks for the info guys. ~S!~
I'm going to get a 200gig SATAII HDD today at Staples. Last day of the sale on them at $79.00. Besides, I need a larger HDD anyways, this 120 SATA is almost full. ;) I might just get 2 of them for RAID setup or a spare. :)
I have found tho that my SATA is faster than the WD ATA HDD I had before. And too Maxtor is a very good HDD. The only thing is Seagate has bought out Maxtor and hopefully Maxtor HDDs won't disappear altogther.
Chaotic42, very nice pc but I wouldn't say it's overkill. The best you can possibly have for a pc today will be outdated very soon. Especially with all the new hardware coming out now. When I built mine I thought I was all set. Within 6 months it was old and out of date. Your's won't be outdated for at least 9 months. LOL ;)
