I have just been told by my union that my current contract with my employer now breaks the law!The reason is that I as an employee of 18 years is paid more than somebody junior to me.My employers response to this will be to try and reduce my salary to that of a new starter -a 33% pay cut.I am sure this legislation came from the EU but it does not take into account length of service or the experience gained during those years. The only people who are going to be happy about this are employers and lawyers.

Look into it Linton and see where you stand, as you may or may not know I am anti EU as all they do to us Brits is to mess everything up and thanks to Tony Blair for giving away the keys to the safe. If Scotland declares there independence from England and pulls out of the EU, I will be in Scotland faster than a fart out of a hippo. As I see no hope of England pulling out. :damn:

Linton did you ever considered China? Are they not hiring Pilots like mad, keeping the salary or even increasing it, because they can't train enough of them as fast as their Airlines expand? Just have to learn some Chinese, you can live in one of those super-fake enclosed private suburbs they build specifically for foreign workers. TV sucks alot though, so does politics and the law. It's actually like living in a bubble. But should be better than loosing 33%.

Two things

1) All the parties in Scotland calling for Scots Independence believe in closer intergration with the EU, or are actually EU Federalists.

2) How employees are paid is not under EU jurisdiction.

The Human rights act for one.

Police hunting two convicted murderers who absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire have refused to release photographs of two escaped murderers, claiming that it might breach their human rights.

Why would murderers be in an open prison? Stupidity on top of stupidity.

I don't know about this in depth, probable a media lie/guess?
On the other hand you need to be carefull with human rights, could be your rights one day.
