Well heres an odd one, I station a full watch in the engine compartment, order Flank Speed and the dial gets set to All Stop! Of course...that means my sub stops...
Anyone else having this problem?
:o
are you using SH3 commander 2.7 ?
if you are
just disable the malfunctions
that helped me:up:

I'm running SHC 2.6, but I'm downloading the update now. I'll check the malfunction option is off. That was quick! Thanks guys

Sounds like one of the malfunctions files hit. You can do one of two things. continue the patrol knowing that your deisels are giving out reduced speed or save/exit/relaunch. usually you'll find that your "chief" has managed to repair the problem.
Or simply disable malfunctions in commander if you're not into that sort of thing.

or you can change the speed-meter to the one where you can pick how many knots you wanna go
andjust press it all the way up

Thanks for the welcome! :ping:
I'm checking through the options of the SH Commander now, but I'm not seeing a malfunctions button. Is it in the game?
Also, I'm thinking that for a touch more realism, it does make sense to leave it. It's not as if the subs ever went to see in perfect condition, and a little extra realism is humbling...

Oh wait... I found the malfunction option. It was hiding in a little corner under one of the torpedos...and it's now off! I was weak :88)
Welcome to subsim!
Now, go test the top speed of the IXC in the English Channel. Its the perfect spot to do it, as the channel is slightly downhill.

Hey, I`m sorry! I just assume everybody knows going to Der Kanal is like going to a new years sale; Instant death and humiliation, followed by more pain, and finally some agony.

Downhill you say? Yup, that would make it go down faster. I'm sure the three billion tonnes of warship floating about there wouldn't have anything to do with it! :rotfl:

Stabiz: Shame on you!! Actually the channel is slightly uphill if you go from North to South due to the rotation of the earth and the effect of the moon's gravity. When you give a skipper advice, at least get it right. Enchanter: Welcome aboard; I suggest you leave the malfunction/sabotage switch on; just test your boat after you leave the harbor to make sure everything is OK. If there is a problem you can then decide if you want to continue or get it fixed.
Yeah, welcome enchanter!
Bwaaaa, I don't remember being welcomed but everyone been helpful. :D
Aaand, whether the Channel is up or down hill depends on the coriolis force excersided by the North Atlantic Low and isobaric gradient moderated by the Azores high and the monsoonal push on the tropical convection zone :know:

:hmm: Just in case you're serious here, are you sure you found the right option? Because there's no torpedoes anywhere near the option. Indeed, there's no torpedoes in SH3Cmdr at all!!
The option can be found by loading SH3Cmdr R2.7 (not applicable to earlier versions) and selecting SH3 Options->Gameplay settings. Look for "Model effects" - last option on the screen.

Hmm...I seem to remember exchanging copious amounts of PM's with you (you were actually referred to me by Kpt. Munson) and assisting you in some additions for your install.
Of course, I could be mistaken and just be experiencing a bad day with my memory lol
