Is it detrimental to the abilities of the worlds navies to train there sonar operators cutting down on peace time sonar emissions in order to protect sea creatures?
Is it likely that anyone would listen to the animal fluffies?

I really don't care. If they were smart, though, they would cut down to prepare for a situation where they need the quiet (such as hiding from an enemy destroyer).

the enviromentalists are concerned that the whales are being beached from the very loud sonar emissions....(coming from surface vessles, not subs nightdagger:know:). Well, thats really the whale's problem, as they are pretty useless. you can't eat them (leagally), they aren't used as pets, they aren't used as a form of transportation, ect. oh well....;)

I care more about marine wildlife than I do about the cute, fuzzy mammals the PETAfreaks harp on about. What's cooler: a Great White Shark or the North American Beaver? I think you know the answer.

It works both ways, you know ...
I've spent days surrounded by biologic's in the Med on patrol ...
We had a routnine of six hours on and twelve hours off. I would go off watch surrounded by whales, dolphins, etc. and come back twelve hours later still surrounded by the same biological sounds. (like a bunch of carpenters).
The sea gulls would attack our floating antenna running along about 200' behind our boomer thinking that it was a school of fish. Fishing trawlers would come over to see what all the seaguls were up to. It was a big job staying hiddened.
Sonarman have rights too, but I agree they shouldn't hurt these marine wonders of the world. Just keep on finding the enemy, befofe, during and in a time of war.

Yeah, it's the beaver so why are we even continuing this conversation? The beaver can bite your nipple off (Jeff Foxworthy joke).
