Must say I love GWX!!
But I have a small problem.
Have a clean install patched to 1.4 and installd GWX on a 3000 mhz cpu with 1 gig ram. But it crashes WAY to often.
Almost everytime I attack a convoy it crashes to the desktop.

Anyone got any idea why?

Use a program like "EndItAll" to close all other applications befor you start SH3.
This will fix 99% of crashes.

You dont say what your graphics card is
During convoys attacks there is a heavy load on both processor and graphics
Could also possibly be a PSU issue
After I updated my graphics card I got CTD a lot or even computer reboot
Upped the PSU and that stopped

It`s a radeon x1950 series. 256 mb brand new for silent hunter 3.
400w PSU
Only game this happens in.

tried reinstalled gwx, and now it crashed right outside Bergen.

Hi,

Iīve had lots of crashes too, hereīs some possible cure:

The obvious things:

- shut down (or even uninstall) any virus scanners, firewalls etc. (Windows firewall does cause SH3 to freeze or crash!)

- reduce hardware acceleration (sound) in your dxdiag-setup/soundcard settings

The less obvious thing: what about your soundcard? I had crashes with Realtek onboard sound. Make sure you have the lattest drivers. Also make sure you only use the soundfiles that are in stock SH3 OR come with GWX. I donīt know why, but one or two "home-made" soundfiles caused my system to crash.

Cheers, AS

Im useing Realtek C97? C98? onboard sound with no problems, so we can rule that out if he has the correct drivers.

Yes, itīs probably a driver issue. Anyway, I got a cheap 5.1 soundcard now and this solved some of the problems.
