Lots of fireworks out here in the orchards, but that's not as loud as some; I was talking to a friend of mine over in Detroit just before the ball dropped and you could hear random gunshots!

I shot off 1 firework rocket that I had from Baja. Didn't know what it did until I lit it. I was dissapointed. It just went up and exploded with some colors and that was it. I wanted it to SCREAM! Oh well, it was fun. Last new years was spent in Baja surfing and we went CRAZY with the mexican fireworks. That was fun.

But in anycase, New Years this year was spent getting drunk with my roommate and his girlfriend. She's hot, so it was pretty fun :) The party seems to get smaller as you get older. Not that it's less fun though.

I lived in Roseville until 1968, then in Mt. Clemens until 1980 (you can probably guess why we moved in 1968). Are you a native Michigander?

PS - I remember shopping at Kresge's. ;-)

Most of the celebrations in the UK were cancelled due to bad weather

The ole standby of NYC last night in hindsight looked to me to be pretty subdued like everyone was reflecting instead of celebrating.

The NYPD all night had been holding everyone back "behind the lines" but as soon as the ball dropped they were in there sharing hugs with the people. I thought that was pretty neat and will be my best memory of New Years 2007.

Well I didn't shoot off any fireworks, but last night had to be the longest and loudest fireworks I've ever heard in my neighborhood.

Some of those explosions were so loud they almost shook the house. :yep: At one point there were so many of those huge explosions going off at the same time that it sounded like a war zone.

I didn't know fireworks like that were available for purchase but obviously in Florida they are. :yep:

Every New Years sounds like a reenactment of the battle of Verdun around here, everything from bottle rockets to AKMs, the Fourth of July is even more fun.

Yeah the dogs aren't allowed out on either day/night. :stare:

Yeah pretty much, just not nearly as warm. Hollidays are random celebratory gunfire which is not too hard to deal with...now the first day of deer season even I don't go outside because then the same guys are fixin' to hit something. Anything.

Some years I was damn glad to have a sturdy basement. :rotfl:

Hey SubConscious! Yup, I'm a native. I was born in Fraser, grew up in Warren and Clinton Township, and now live out in Romeo. They've been doing a lot of rebuilding in Mt. Clemens over the past decade; it's starting to look nice again. Where did you go after Michigan? Hopefully somewhere warm! My parents are in the process of moving to Charleston, SC after my dad got laid off from GM engineering last year. They're loving it down there.

It was a calm night in Bromma. Quite disappointing really.... sure, there was drunken teenagers here and there (as always in the upper-class districts which Bromma is) but otherwise there was just some places with big rockets. I think too many families are doing the same as we do: Don't buy a single cracker and watch the rest o' 'em blow up their budget:rotfl:
