Those quick action buttons, the ones that are for "Cruise mode" "Surface Attack" "Anti-Air" etc in the ships crew list, is there a way to pre-configure them so I can click and always get the same crew memebers to those jobs? When I click them, it's sending people who have no business being there. When I'm in attack mode, it's sending half my torpedo qual'ed guys to the eigine room, some machinists to the con tower, etc. If not, it's all about manually putting each one there every time I need to change...meh lol

I don't use this function much now. But back when I played stock vanilla SH3, I found as the crew got more experienced they went to their expected posts, instead of machinist's manning the deck gun.:rotfl:
It just took a few patrols.

The use of these buttons is well known for CTDs, so I stay away from them..;)

Here is a suggestion which I use: In SH3CMDR go to "manage your crew' in the options. In there assign the duty to every member of your crew. At the start of a patrol go to F7 and place everyone where you want them. If you don't use the bogus fatigue feature, just leave them there and assume your XO is doing his job and setting up watch crews, and code red crew assignment. When you surface and dive the correct men will rotate to deck and front crew quarters. This also works with any of the fatigue models, but you may have to do more micro management. You also will have to kick the lazy watch officer in the ass to get him to assume his station, especially in bad weather.

Eh, I use the buttons but thankfully have never had a CTD from them. Personally I find them helpful.
Yes, my WO is a lazy goober, too. I always have to kick him out of his bunk.

That's pretty much how I'm doing it now. Guess I'll stick with that method ;) Yeah, I've noticed that EVERY time I surface the boat, good or bad weather, I ALWAYS have to manually put the bridge officer in the tower. Bug of the game engine?

As far as I know, yes. It's just one of those things we have to live with.
