View Full Version : Star Shells by day - GWX responsible?

While stalking a convoy I noticed one of the escorts close by, who immediately fired off a star shell - but in broad daylight!

I have never seen this before in all the time I have played this game, I wonder if GWX was responsible?

Has anyone seen this before? Here is a screenie;

What was the time of day ?
Close to dawn and dusk they still fire starshells

From the pic looks like it would have to be, the illumination round is actually lighting up the surface slightly under it.

The SH3 engine fires those things off when the enemy AI crew cannot see you... but knows you are there.

It can happen in times of low visibility during the daytime (though very rarely.)

Judging by the screenshot above, fog is involved.

This is not a quirk specific to GWX.

It was mid morning and there was light fog, enough to give the haze on the horizon.
