View Full Version : These forums have changed one helluva lot in one year. I'm leaving.

This forum has IMO lost almost all of it's "cozy-home" feeling over the last year. It has grown with an explosive force, and there are unbelievably many new members. That's what has changed it. I remember (with sadness) how you could, as late as in the spring/beginning of summer, know almost everyone here by name or reputation. But not anymore. It's just a "general chat room" for everyone and anyone. I've decided to leave (5th time?), since the calling from U-boats and general WWII history has left me. Now I'm hooked to photography. I need a life, care to donate?

This forum actually started a bad circle in my life you know. It was the first forum i ever joined, and my real world friends got more and more forgotten as i became more active both here and @ other forums. I'm addicted to forums. My grades @ school/college have plummeted. I've lost tons of sleep, and acquired a weight problem since i quit my judo lessons. Evolution and computers are bad. They are perfectly capable of degrading a life's qualities. It's like a virtual world around us. The good sides? At least not being too much with friends/gangs have prevented me from beginning to smoke & drink. 3/4 of my class smokes ATM. Stupid, very stupid. Also, I actually have noticed a slight increase in my grades again, since i stopped being very active here.

I've got too much going on in my life atm to be able to keep visiting forums regularly. My family is moving to the USA for at least two years in the spring. Those few friends I still have won't. It's a new world all over again. We might even stay there for ever. Only good thing is, I now speak english. That i didn't do when we went there last time, and lived there for a year. One tough fall it was, coming to a public school with no understanding of the language at all. Life goes on.

Thanks for all the good memories I've acquired here. Keep being the best community on the net, will you?

Best regards, and good luck to you all,
Sir Big Jugs

Again, you are leaving again?

Well leave then instead of coming back to say you are leaving.

First he tells us he's leaving...then fills us in on his life to date. *Sigh* To be young again, when every course change was oh sooo dramatic.

He plays the come-and-go-game even more excessive than I do, doesn't he?

Well here's a life for you: Official Full-time Subsim Server...hmm...watchman.

Spend 24h on a dark cold room sitting in front of the server making sure nobody ever touches it. Fine, it's not a dark room, there'll be plenty of little LEDs blinking like a Christmas tree so no worries about going insane. Weight? You'll loose all your fat as your body hopelessly attempts to keep you warm in the freezing chamber you'll call home. Friends & fun? It's your own mini-dungeon, as long as you don't smack the server you can play RPGs with imaginary friends, you will be the mighty guardian of the Dungeon of Doom, are you ready to repel the hordes of silicon-hungry Orcs and protect the Mother of all DualCores?

Why do people make posts about leaving and stating all these reasons why, almost as if they want us to persuade them otherwise? Then they just show up again a few weeks later, if that!

I say if you’re leaving, just leave. No need to tell your life story and give long winded explanations. :yep:

Honestly, did you really let your life plummet because you spent too much time here?

The fact that you will probably post again to answer questions or make a statement means you haven't left yet.

Sorry.

This has become cliché. Make your move permanent this time.
