I don't know how I did this but I originally had SH3 heavily modded and SH3 CMDR 2.5. Then I wanted to try TGW1.1a. I removed Commander and installed Cmdr 2.6. Also I got a second copy of SH3 patched and JSGME into which I installed TGW1.1a. I don't know how I got the second copy of SH3 in order to load TGW into it and now that is modded as well. I install MultiInstall and installed it into the TGW1.1a SH3 so that I have a save game as GW1 in My DOcuments. The other SH3 used SH3 in My documents. Now I want to download the new GWX when it becomes available.

So, here's my problem, I have two copied of SH3CMDR2.6, one to load SH3 and the othet to load TGW.

How am I going to be able to start a new clean SH3 and put 1.4 and JSGME in it and then put GWX into it and have SH2CMDR2.6 load the GWX game.

I'm sorry, but I could not get SH3CMDR (1 copy) to deal with both the SH3 and the TGW one. I think my problems here was I forget to roll back SH3 Cmdr after exiting TGW and go into SH3, I'm not sure because I have not been using the SH3 for some time now since I installed TGW1.1a as I'm trying to learn to use it.

I can't uninstall the SH3 because it is heavily modded and I cannot find the installs or instruction on how to get those mods back into it. So that's out.

The SH3 which has TGW in it is now modded as well.

So, I have two desktop icons for SH3 Cmdr, two decktop for loading SH3 and TGW and two desktop for JSGME (1 for each copy). Can you see the mess I'm in?

One thing I can do is rename SH3 under programfiles, rename the SH3 in my documents and then uninstall SH3??? or just copy another clean SH3 from my DVD???

So, what do I do,

Jaesen, don't be made at me please, cause I'm having problems.

Reformat the hard drive:up: other than that I do not see how heavily modded SH3 will not uninstall. GW is a heavy mod and I uninstalled the whole thing last night and reinstalled for GWX. No issues mate.

Your lucky Rob
Jaeson is out of town for a few days :rotfl:

First off rollback both SH3commanders
Make sure both your folders in the Ubisoft folder are anything other than SilentHunterIII - in other words rename if you have too

Rename the SH3 folder in my documents - so your careers are safe

Whack the DVD in the drive
Click install
Click repair

Hey presto - a fresh SilentHunterIII install
Patch to 1.4b

No need to add JSGME as GWX will install that

I recommend SH3commander 2.7 Rob
It will have some GWX specific files to D\L as extras
These include all new ship classes and names and updated cfg files too for use with GWX only

Now if needs be you can have another SH3commander install for GWX - so you will have 3

Add the same as you did the other 2

@BBW

So, I do have the other SH3 programs renamed and I already have both careers backed up. So now put my DVD in and in Control Panel click remove, but instead of removing it, repair???

So you recommend I uninstall SH3CMDR2.6 and install 2.7

Now from that one copy of CMDR2.7, copy two more with the names for the other two TGW and GWX and the original for SH3 and have 3 shortcuts on my destop?

Then have 3 JSGME shortcuts for each game.

Install MultiInstall into the GWX. It is only installed in the TGW to have a different career file in My Documents. Should I have MultiInstall in all 3 ?

GWX will install that. Oops I did that, should I delete it?

Okay, I have 3 copies of comder 2.6. Will 2.7 (1 desk icon) be able to switch between the three installs (Ubisoft-GWX, Ubisoft-U55 and Ubisoft-TGW)? Or should I make 3 copies of it in the program files and 3 icons?

Ok Rob
Dont bother going anywhere near control panel
Just insert the disc in the drive
Click install then click repair

I cant answer your multiSH3 query as never used it
Only ever used 1 install of SH3Commander so I will be no help there either

If 2 installs worked for you before then I see no reason why 3 wont

There is the switch function in SH3commander that can point to more than 1 install but again not used it Rob

Okay, I'll wait to see if someone else can answer my Commander 2.7 question.

However, I installed JSGME in the clean install, should I delete it if GWX put it in anyways?

Rob hi

I would suggest you do a different installation of SH3Cmd for each different installation of SH you have. That way you don't get the SH3Cmd confused and you don't mess up things. The way to do this is simple. You install SH3Cmd 2.7 and then you right-click onto the desktop icon. You click on properties and where it say target you type "C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX. Now this is the example of my SH3Cmd that will check the files in the My Documents\GWX folder that is generated by the C\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX installation. After that this particular installation of SH3Cmd is linked to that installation of SH (GWX in this case). If you need more info please let me know and I'll do my best to help. BTW I haven't forgot about the contact interception thing I've talked to you about but due to work I didn't have time to play. Today I'm uploading GWX for the last 3 hours and it will still take another 6, so I will do it at some point by Sunday.

After I dl GWX and install it, should I use MultiInstall in it to make a special save career folder, say like - GWX?
I already have GW1 for TGW and U55 for the SH3

Yes once you do install SH3 and you patch it up you copy the whole folder and you paste it whenever you want to have the new game. After that you put the multySH3 file in the new folder (you rename it to e called whatever you like-let's say GWX) and you run it. When asked put GWX as the name of the folder in the My Documents where your careers will be saved. After you do this you can install GWX in this folder. Once this is done create a shortcut to the desktop and install SH3Cmd. In the shortcut of SH3Cmd you add the "C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX in the target place and you fire GWX. You're all set to play

My pleasure Rob

The hunting will have to wait until tomorrow as it's 3:00 in the morning here and I'm still uploading GWX. If you need anything else as always feel free to PM or post and I'll do my best to help:up:

When I DL GWX, what options should I chose, or are there no options.

There are some options that are explained in the installer. All of them though can be activated via the mod enabler. So first you install the game, then you read the manual and after that you add all the options you like. You'll see it's really user friendly and simple
