Yep it's surely him! Now that three "experts" confirmed it, it has to be true ;)

Thank you for posting the link, Seth!

Cheers!

Interesting footage. If you have a real close look you can tell it's actually colorised black and whit footage rather than true colour film. Be interesting to know if it was computer enhanced or whether it was done the old way by hand. My guess is computer.

In the 1940's, before colour film became more coomonplace, it was popular to "colourise" black and white photo's and films. The mehtod was painstakingly labourious using hand painted washes to colour the lighter parts of the images.

I think this site has been posted before but it has some authentic colour photo's and movies of WWII.http://www.ww2incolor.com/gallery/german-navy Quite a bit of Kreigsmarine action shots too. Agfa was one of the pioneers in colour film technology and the German propgander ministry bought up about 90% of their stock for use by the government.

Yep, that's a colorized version of a propoganda film made aboard Topp's boat during a patrol off the coast of the United States.

The first ship that gets hit looks a bit like an US battleship, doesn't it? There seem to be 2 turrets on the bow, or am I wrong?

Very interesting footage, thanks for posting it Seth. I agree with TarJak in that it definitely looks like colorized B & W to me. Isn't Erich Topp still alive? If I recall correctly, he was a consultant for SH2.
