Sort of in the same vein: Some stores now call christmas trees, holiday trees... Because they don't wanna offend anyone.
Sometimes people make me sick. ITS A CHRISTMAS TREE!! That is what they are called!! It is NOT offending to call it a christmas tree!!

If someone is so insecure about their religion that hearing the name of a holiday associated with another religion makes them mad, then they have problems.
I don't know if the large-scale political correctness is for reasons like this, but at an Eagle Court of Honor for boy scouts a while ago, our preacher closed the prayer with, "In Jesus' name, Amen." The people who complained weren't the Jews or Hindus or Buddhists. They were Christians worried about offending those people (who weren't, by the way, offended.)

Madness!
The Borat info on the page caught my eye, good on the judge for not holding back the release of Borat. I love that borat guy makes me laugh everytime. And to think for yrs i thought Ali G was real until someone mentioned on here hes a british commedian:roll:
Love the bit where he says if the US do not let us in we will bombard your cities with catapults! :D

Since we have the precedent in previous years, the bombardment is at least expected.
What is truly important is to see if this year the offensive increases or decreases in quantity, quality and intensity. Since I don't have stuff from 2005 stored I simply can't compare and a research would be a waste of time and extremely boring. But fear not, I'm collecting everything I can find this time around so I'll be able to let you know if Christmas in 2007 is better or worse than this year's.
Thanks for three more cases from Britain STEED. About half of what I have is still from the US. :know:

The crazy thing is do I hear any of these offended minorities saying they are offended by British people celebrating Christmas with the nativity?
when I was at school we had indians and jews and muslims and they took part in the Christmas festivities which involved the nativity and christian symbols and no one complained.
It is looney liberal white anglo-saxon christian idiots who do this.

Don't forget the liabilty culture and the over blown occupational health and safety issues as highlighted in the throwing sweets story.

The loony yogurt eaters who knit socks all day are here to stay. :damn:
Don't worry - the UK isn't the only country affected this year. In Canada, it appears that courts are banning Christmas trees in public buildings as offensive to minorities. Only one instance so far, but that will probably change soon. Read this:

A lot of company's have ban Christmas decorations on the grounds of health and safety main reason fire hazard, as for councils it's a bit of not offending minorities and health and safety. This madness gets worst every year.
Inna world where every one is right and there is noone wrong then who is to tell anyone what they can do or say.
The dumbing down of the world...
