I was thinking about the video of the hull interior with the crew at stations.
It occurred to me that in WWII US Submarine crews were predominantly of English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh or German extraction--in other words Anglo-Saxon types. It would be nice if some of the crew were red heads or fair haired, pale skinned, and maybe pug nosed, and not totally drawn from E. European facial types but instead represented a cross section of national origins as one might have found at the time. I suspect the ratio of Dornins and Callahans to Popescues in the submarine service was about 500 to 1.

I thought for sure that you were going to say that the CE looks like dave navarro.
No really I think it would be cool if they add a black sailor. They did serve on board and keep in mind everyone on a sub must learn to preform other duties.

If they can wireframe Clark Gable's ears I'll be very impressed.....

Will they have a token black man?? Just to plicate any vocal minority group.
I just hope they reduce the starch level in the clothing as they are looking a little stiff!

I have just run across some interesting shots from Richard Jensen's 1945 book,
Carrier War. Two black naval aviators and one Romanian-American triple ace. I've
put the photos up on my website and they may be seen at:
