So the question now is, do we get all the wonderful graphical and gameplay enhancements that we've just seen in the videos without having to upgrade our systems? if your system ran SH3, will it be able to handle SH4 without a RAM and or video card upgrade? I'd expect a 'SH4 specs hint' in January. It'll be interesting.

The Silent Hunter 4 Project Leader Emil Gheorge said that Silent Hunter 4 will have the same system requirements as Silent Hunter 4.
...Yes, that makes perfect sense.:o

I think the main difference will be on the video card requirements. The game now uses shader 2.0, so you must have a compatible card.

I think multicore ready is a must have feature.
The DEVs surely had realized that by the end of the next year single cores will be extinguished.
The increase in performance is promising. :yep:
For example one core is working with the graphics meantime the other one is on charge of the AI.

I support this statement. I'm running a multicore processor atm and would like to be able to implement it with SH4 :)

Just my opinion, but I don't think it will be 'multicore ready'. The game is in essence an updated version of SH3 using a modified and improved engine. I believe that the focus during production of SH4 is to fix the known SH3 issues and offer a new game using the same specs but with improved graphics and gameplay.

Well my 2.4 pentium hardly runs SH3 when its crowded so there is no way its going to run SH4 . I would say i am up for a minimum of two thousand dollars upgrade here . But not yet . DX10 stuff for my next upgrade .
Sober brings up a good point. Will SH4 be able to utilize the enhanced graphics of DX10 that will be available in Vista?

They are using Shader model 2.0 I believe in SH4, which is two generations behind dx10 which has 4.0. So on that note, unfortunatly I doubt it :damn::damn:

I hope the requirements dont deviate too much. I upgraded this computer just to play number 3, and that was a fiasco in its own right. (*spits on PC World*)
