View Full Version : 503m, no electric engines, and emegancy surface aint working

Happened to me last night. I got caught by a pair of destroyers and they DC'ed me pretty good, sunk me to the bottom (503m) and knocked out my electric engines. Took my hull integrity down to 2%. I got all the leaks patched and tried to emergancy surface (again) and no luck. I just couldnt get off the bottom :damn:

Any ideas? I ended that career since I figured they were just dead but next time if I can save it I would like to try

How the hell you even got the boat to 503m without crushing it!? :rotfl:

That is unrealistic to get a sub to 503m, since the hull would have crushed when you are under 350m (just a appoximation) (for the best U-boat in WWII, Type XXI only. The figure for other boats such as Type VII is lower)

But you're lucky:up: "Life's like a box of chocolate":yep:

Anyway, to surface the boat, you need to use compressed air to push out the water in ballast tanks. In deep sea, its hard to do so since water pressure is too high and prevents water from being displaced. That's why you cannot surface again

Don't be sad since you are luckier than 3/4 of sailors :dead: in Battle of Atlantic

OMG 503m is a lot of water over your head...

Yea, I walk through the valley of death........

Kiss your mates goodbye. The games over. Do yourself and crewmates a service and start the detonators for scuttling the boat. No need to suffer until death.... :dead:

This is a Das Boot moment. Stuck on the bottom, serious flooding etc.....

I am surprised that your boat made that depth and is stable at 2% hull intergrity.

Maybe, you've found a SH3 dev easter egg:hmm::rotfl:

just becaue of interest,
do they blow out the water with the compressed air or do they squeeze it out mechanical, like in a pump, letting the air pass behind the spool?

The pressure from the air blows out the water. Problem is at greater depth the crushing power of the water does not allow the compressed air to blow out the water. Same thing with the toilets.

Now that you mention it I wish I would have taken one. I think it was a bug because like was mentioned above 503m is just too freeking deep. I was taking hull damage the entire time then it just stopped at 2% and I sat there . . . out of compressed air and no eletric engines:nope:

btw playing TGW 1.1a

use some grease and you should be fine:lol:
that should get hes huge butt moving into the tube and slide out easily:lol:

I don't know should butt, grease and men be used in the same sentence:o

Great, now I have a very disturbing image of The Village People singing: In the Kriegsmarine.

Thanks. Thanks a lot.

thx, thats how i supposed it to be.

The patrol is over ...because the water pressure is too high and you canīt scape at such deep. the limit is about 100 meters

every men that tried to scape could be crushed by the pressure and the lungs blow up and other effects when the poor sailor reach shallow waters...

I'm pretty sure, even if you could've gotten the boat rising, the hull integrity would've started to drop again once you got above the "bug depth"...

it happened to me ... but not that deep 327 meters ... it hold up , as soon as i start going up again the hull integrity started to go down ...

Press 'Esc' then select 'Exit Patrol' then as if by magic your compressed air will be replenished, the pumps will work, your hull integrity will once more be 100%, you will slowly begin rising to the surface and 'KAZAM' !! you'll be back in port :yep:

Oh and the turtles can get on with their swimming exercises :D

or blow everything unnecessary out of your torpedo tubes and hope your boats weight is low enough to be liftet to the surface by the remaing air in your boat
