Second Life (http://secondlife.com/whatis/) is a 3D virtual world. Unfortunately you need broadband and a fairly decent pc to go there. I've played around on it a little (basic accounts are completely free, you just need to register).
I was just picturing us making our own 3D community there, for get togethers and stuff. Among other things you can do is create clothing (uniforms, anyone? :D ) and items, plus actually buy land (our own watering hole, sub pens, etc).
I know; being silly I suppose.

That's interesting AVH , but shouldn't you be posting this in the "General" forum?
Think, i'll check out the site

Errrr . . . probably, yes. I guess being a U-boat jockey and SHIII addict I have a tendency of tunnel vision when it comes to Subsim overall.

Cool idea! Would be awesome if we could make a Subsim HQ there with the "building" modelled as a U-boat.
I didn't have time to look at it in detail, but first impressions are pretty cool!

Another idea, we could have a Eternal Patrol Memorial and members could submit their most notable crew losses to be memorialized at the site.
Just a thought!

--sighs-- Looks like this died once it moved here.
Ah yes, I think I tested this (atleast it was similar to this) two or three years ago. Seemed interesting.
