Yeah Yeah. I know. Again.
Just can`t get this into my head.:damn:
If you are playing at 100% realism. Do you get 1 tonnage = to 1 renown
or do you get 1 somers destroyer = 140 renown? (+24H patrol etc etc)
Been searching the forums a couple of hours now and can`t find out what`s right.
Please don`t mock me....

No one here is going to mock you. :)
Go here: http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Renown for a very detailed explanation of the renown system, and of the value of targets and certain actions.
And yes: at 100% realism, 1 Somers destroyer equals 140 renown. It's not, for example, 1,000 tons sunk equals 1,000 renown.

Renown is over rated.....but does give you something to work for. I do not pay attention to the ships and what renown I will receive for sinking the bugger. Do your best and sink as many ships as you can, make your 24 hour stay where BDU sends you and the renown will come:up:
Don't forget you can always modify what renown you get for what ship if you want to play a one to one tonnage you can do it. Just to make it a little fairer though make sure you increase the price of your upgrades as well otherwise you can afford everything with one patrol.:D

Or you can play the NYGM Tonnage War supermod, where upgrades don't 'cost' you anything, they just take time to install and train your crew.
Good thing, too . . . cuz it's a lot harder in NYGM (TGW, too, for that matter) than it is in the stock version of the game.
Yep NYGM is great too. That's what I like about this place, always plenty of good advice around and you'll be knocking em dead in no time.

:yep: :yep: :yep:
Good advice, cameraderie, and even the occassional bickering is usually good-natured in spirit. All in all, truly the best forum I've ever been part of.
