Hello!

I have started to create my own tables where you can see U-boats Laid down - and Comissioned months year by year from 1935 - 1945. This means: If you want to know which boats were laid down in May 1943 or which boats were comissioned in the same month it's easy to see with just one look.

Anyway I thought to ask if someone know, does thiskind of table exist allready? I haven't been lucky to find kind of table from anywhere.

Also I'm working with a table where you can see U-boat losses month by month and boat by boat.

My time is limited but I try to get about 25 boats to be "worked" per day. So this will be a few months projeckt and if someone would be interested in to join me, we could share the job. I base my work on information found from uboat.net.

And if someone would be interested in to get copies from tables after they are ready, just PM me. Tables will be Word docs.

I'm doing something somewhat similar, using the same database. I found the owner/manager of Uboat.net, Gudmundur Helgason, to be very helpful.

My intent is to determine the average lifespan of each boat based upon patrol service dates; predictors of survivability, such as the commander's age and experience; success rates by boat type, patrol dates, commander's age, etc; and a whole host of other fun data manipulations.

I'm currently storing my data in Excel. I'll import it to SPSS for analysis once I have it complete, though I'm still a ways off on this as other priorities have arisen.

This said, I can certainly send you a table with the commissioned date, launch date, shipyard, etc. Let me know specifically what you're looking for and what format you'd like it in. Once I have your e-mail address (send via PM), I'll shoot the file over to you ASAP.
