Despite the misleading topic, this one is about AI DD behaviour.

When a DD spots you, it usually rushes at u, drops a few DCs.... and then circles around trying to get a bearing on your sub. If it doesn't pick you up, it normally buggers off .

Now, has anyone been succesful in leading a DD to a German port by deliberately getting spotted by the DD, then diving for cover, and then again letting him spot you, so that the DD would follow you until the ends of the earth?

That would be very interesting, but the problem is that the distance is too great. I mean, if you spot a destroyer near English coast and then trying to lure it near friendly port by diving and surfacing? It would take days.

Or just playing with mission editor, placing allied warships near axis ports (or vice versa) and watch the fireworks with external camera. I have done that. :D

EDIT: One thought, why not using something that can't out-run you, so that it would chase you all the way to port, while keeping it outside gun range.
