This is so awesome I had to come back just to share this.

The graphics seem to rival that of SH3 and it's completely Open Source (tm)! While there is no career mode and the physics are still somewhat simplistic, there is a _lot_ of potential here!

Of course, you have to know or learn C++ to contribute code. But just about anyone can playtest and contribute ideas, missions, and thoughts on realism.

I think I'm going to download it to give it a whirl. (I run Debian GNU/Linux, but it appears to play under Windows, too!)

And how many freeware mods has this guy stolen, you all gonna bang him too? ;)

Well I dont think it can match SH3, so I won't bother downloading it. But it's probably great for those who wants to shoot a torpedo and then puts it away.

I love Open Source.

Give it a few years and who knows.

Yes, it is getting better and better. Developers seem to have a lot of courage. That is really good.

I have been following the development of this game for about a year now, but I can't get the latest version to work on my laptop (video driver issue ). Still, it is a great project that is worth following and supporting. Looks like they are in need of developers with knowledge of C++ though - if I could help them, I would contribute but I can't. Maybe someone out there would lend a hand though.:hmm:
