If you didn't want them to send you the Gato when it became in stock, and charge your credit card to do it, then you shouldn't have pre-ordered.

Iīve done a lot of Revell-model kits for 20 years now and I was never disappointed - they are worth the money as far as Iīm concerned. So I think it unfair to complain before you actually got the kit and built it. If you donīt want to be charged, donīt pre-order (Iīll buy my Gato in cash, very old-school.) Cheers, AS

Who is it who have all but stopped using cash and even buy their morning coffee with credit cards? Wasn't it the Palestinians and Israelis?

Heh, either way this reminds me I've got two fighter plane models to build:cool:.

I've been collecting revel models for a good couple years now.
The're models were always good value.
I'm still building that 1/72 uboot, after that it would be nice to add a gato to my collection!!!

I built a Revell "box-scale" (meaning tiny) B-36 and B-47 about 50 years ago, followed by the USS George Washington, and haven't looked back. Once I finally get my own place again I'm seriously considering both boats, but first I have several 1/72 scale vac-forms and a few scratch-builds on my list, plus a bunch of big planes, including a B-36 and several airliners.

Maybe someday I'll be done.

Iīve got it and when itīs finished itīll do nicely next to my 1/72 scale VIIc, also from REVELL! By the way, they offer German U-Boat crews 1/72 as well...

Cheers, AS

:o :yep:
Very, very nice.

I miss the large scale U.S.S. Enterprise model I had. It was on a base that looked like water and the Aircraft cargo hold lit up as did the island.

I bought this display version from the person that built it and I was building the same kit but was trying to make it radio controled.

Thanks to a landlord problem, I lost everything about 8 days after signing a new lease.

I could not take her to Court because she claimed that I was delequint on rent and she filed for eviction before I even signed the new lease after living there over 13 years. She actually told the Judge I had only been there 2 years and the new lease was not accepted as proof that I was never aware of any eviction notice. It was ugly and I lost a lot of great models.

still not suer if I want to get back into it. Those Pics are making me think about it again.

I really empathize with your loss. I had a huge pile of models waiting for building, including some that were unreplaceable, stored in a garage and the garage caught fire. This was ten years ago, so I'm over it, but at the time it was pretty devastating.

As to large-scale models, here are some links to some pretty cool scratchbuilds:

USS Enterprise CV-6 in 1/72 scale

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/objects/pdf/whatscaleisright.pdf

And USS Enterprise CV(N)-65
http://kalmbachcatalog.stores.yahoo.net/fsm970301.html

Both models are loaded with aircraft. Of course in 1/72 scale each plane is a beautiful model in its own right.

Sorry that those are just magazine covers, but it's all I could find.

Sorry to hear that, Spector:cry:.

Anyone gotten your hands on a 1:1 model yet?

There are some nice 1/72 scale aircraft carrier models at the Pensacola Naval Air Museum. Haven't been there in years, may check it out soon.

Yours, Mike
