I am sick of SPAMMERS!

In the last 2 weeks ive gotten over 6 emails most come from Nigeria! All claiming im about to be a rich. So much for my spam filter! If it aint about blardy viagra :rotfl: its about recieving lots of cash.

But does any anti-spam programs actually block them or are they just put in another folder for you to delete later?

I get about 50 a day. Rediculous to say the least. And don't you have to manually say which ones you want to block? It's not automatically going to know is it?

So it ends up being a lot of work continuously sorting thru good from bad. A pain to say the least.

Whats the problem? Just change ye adress. And no "I'm going to spam you to death!" Yahoo or similiar sh** email adress. Take a HOTMAIL.COM one. They do work nice and nearly no spam for me. :up:

Of course i have another one for website registerings ect wich i rareley ever visit.

Yep but the trouble is theres always new ones coming out. So you block one yet they send another under a different name.

Sad thing about these spam emails is their are ppl out there that actually believe them and reply. Had a case of a old fella recieve one of those so common nigeria emails asking him to send 5000 and he would get part of the 1 milion within a few weeks. The guy depoisted 5000 to them. He was so upset as it was his savings he actually believed he would get part of the 1 million!! :roll:

Its a Nigeria scam! Follow through with it and they will eventually lure you to Nigeria and kidnap you, holding you for ransom until someone pays for your release. No one pays, and you are SOL!!!

Best way to avoid spam is to use an email that is seperate from your ISP, and not subscribe to anything, and only give your real email addy on a need to have basis. I keep two emails. One for personal/family, and another for gaming. The worst thing you can do btw, is acutally reply to a spam email. How now your addy is going get on multiple spam lists, not just a single one... but meh.. its going to get spread around from list to list anyway over the course of time.

What type of spam you get, is sometimes an indicator of what you spend your time looking at BTW. All you have to do is vist one or two pr0n sites and they have you pegged for spam. I work for an internet secruity corp, and in my line of work, i get ALOT of spam by virtue of doing my job. I get sniffed constantly and i swear, not 10 mins after hitting some sites, ill have a new spam email. Over the weekend, our email spam filter will have stopped probably 1200 to 2000 spam emails sometimes. Last friday alone i got 800 spam emails that the spam blocker caught.

ROFL I got that same email today as well Kiwi, its starting to get ridiculus, I dont use Hotmail or any other such Email company and have spam filters already through my ISP and am still getting spam.

One message I got was about a guy on MYSPACE going on about his webpage so I just wrote back "Dont ever Sapm me again".

When will people learn that Spam is not wanted.
