Can't spend renown??

Playing patched Vanilla...

When I upgraded to a VIIB sub, it was an easy "transaction" and went fine. After my last Patrol with 2600 renown available, I was going to upgrade my hydrophones that were only 300 renoun.. I clicked on it and just about every other icon, but it didn't allow me to get it.. I tried doubleclicking it as well, but finally gave up and saved my renown..

Anyone have any idea why I couldn't upgrade??

Well that is strange. It's probably a bug. Have you tried restarting the game. Are you using any mods (I know you said you use patched vanilla, but there are mods for it too)? Maybe you have already bought the upgrade. I really don't know.

Possible you have it already. Did a message come up that said you have this already? Are you clicking the capital letters for the upgrade or clicking on something else?:lurk:

I clicked on some of the different options & saw that the renown was '0' so I assumed that it was either unavailable or I already had it.. I have the standard hydrophone on my VIIB and when I moved the down arrow, I saw the upgraded unit for 300 renown. I clicked all over it and I didn't get a 'Are you sure?' screen and my renown (2600 or so) never went down... I never saw any message saying I had it already..

I'll try again after this patrol.. I'm 7 days into it and haven't seen as much traffic as I did on the last patrol.. Hopefully this time I'll have some eels left when a convoy is sighted :damn:

You should double click on the name of the hydrophones you want, not the pic.

But there are bugs in the uboat and crew section of the office. I'm having problems putting medals on my crew. Even when there are highlighted medals I'm told to complete a patrol first. Tried to put a side emblem on my boat, and I'm told I already have it, which I don't.

You just have to leave the screen and try again, and then suddenly it works :roll:

I didn't try to go back in and try it again.. I've had to drag the award 3 or 4 times to the same persom before they accepted it.. Now I just drag it to the empty award spot on the crewman description..

Got my upgraded hydrophones!!! :up:

Tried clicking on the capital Initials (K??) and it let me upgrade..
