Definately American as it shows a "breast rack" on the ship showing the medals earned. The quality of the picture is so bad that I can't make out half of them though.

According to Hazegray Underway, it's AOR-110 Conecuh. She was an ex-German ship that was taken by the British at the end of WW2.

Ok so what ship is this then ?
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3840/shipbb5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
The ship is a Berezina class or VTR.According to Polmar there is only one in the class the name ship. She was completed in 1978,and she can carry 16000tons of fuels,500tons of fresh water and 2-3000 tons of ammunition. Her armament includes ASW weapons. She also has sonar plus two helicopters. Her pennant number sometimes varies.
Berezina is a major river in Belorussia and was the scene of a major battle during Napoleon's retreat from Moscow in 1812.

Time for some clues methinks. She's a very famous ship though her fame was not won in battle. This picture was taken in 1906 at the time of her launch and things after this were never the same. Her only combat victory was the U-29 in 1915, which she rammed.

Are those sail planes that I see on that Kilo?
HUmmm if im right its the Amur-Lada Class SSK
Kapitan
11-07-06, 05:21 AM
Its the B100 St Petersburg lada amur class SSK and no its not a kilo :D she does have diving planes on the sail and on a second note dont you think she is a bit thinner than a kilo?
It could be the Kronsdt which is the next submarine in line, but i dont think she has been launchd yet.

I'll insert one of my favorite lines from a Disney movie here...
Sarcasm is a foreign language to you...isn't it?
Me stating the obvious diving planes "on that Kilo" is becuase Linton posted a pic of a Kilo...obviously not the same sub as his second posting as the second one isn't as "fat" as you stated Kapitan. Plus, the obvious hull seperation you can see in the second reminds me of the 'turtleback' seperation on my former boat.
