View Full Version : Sometimes external view in harbors "breaks" and locks in on upside down bits of land

This only seems to happen in harbors. I'll hit external view and see the view falling from the sky, then at a 45 degree angle falling from the sky. The external view is then broken from that point on and I have to reload sh3 to restore it.
Anyone else have this "feature"?

Just to clarify
Its a stock 1.4b bug that only happens when land units are close\detected - thats why it only happens in harbours

Ive had that happen to me many times in MP missions. Am always close to land when it happends. Shame really cause i miss out on taking some good pics of the unfolding action.
Typical UBI releasing a patch with bugs in:nope:

Happends when there are land based searchlights or AA units or the like.
...but it ONLY happens if you step through viewable units by fixed outside cam/unit cam and happen to see a landunit like bunker or searchlight in outside view.
Keyboard commands "," and "." step up/down through all DETECTED units ( either sea or land ) in numerologic order as units are setup in map ( Clemson 1, 2, 3, Bunker 1, 2 and so on ). This means that the probability of catching such landunits by stepping through unitcams depends on the number the unit has in the map AND if you either step up or down to it.
Most safe option is not to use outside unit view at all in harbors or near coasts.
If you still use it dont step too far. Best choice is to observe the landscape yourself, detect landunits visually yourself, so you`ll know when its time NOT to step too far through your outside unit cams.
