I'm sorry if this is old news and already dealt with, but recently I was at another web site where there was some discussion of SH4.

From what was said I got the distinct impression that SH4 will not have a dynamic career, can the dev team confirm if this is true.

Also

What will feature in SH4 after about 1944 - 1945 where there was not much in the ay of significant targets for the US subs, will the game just be rescuing downed pilots and shooting up junks

First question, There will DEFINATLY be a dynamic campaign in SH4, that is 100% garrenteed and confirmed - as sure as Ive got a hole in my arse.

In an Interview the devs clearly stated, that it wasnt even a question weather a dynamic campaign was or wasnt the right way to go.
Dont know what you heard - but its wrong.

Second question, Yes what you point out is going to be problem with the pacific theatre, Uboats in the atlantic made a more rational lerning curb for a game, it starts easy and gets tough!
But this time that is going to be reversed! so It will be interesting to see what the devs do (if anything) to combat this problem without mis-representing history to much.

Hi thanks for your reply,

Glad to hear there is a dynamic career, that had me worried. Re the lack of things to do later in the war, lets just hope they acurately model Gaudalcanal and the various surface ship engagements, relative bordom later in the game might be offset by some interesting opportunities earlier in the war.
