Cool stuff. But how much does it cost? I suspect high dollars.

Many thousands, but I do not know what its current cost is today (Its been a few years since I tried it). THeir big plan is to get it cheap enough to get into a cell phone so you can check your email with a massive screen projected directly on your retina. I am not sure if they have achieved their target cost/performance goal, but I do know they are working on it.

As the demand and supply grows the price will shrink. Plasma TVs. Ya gotta love capitalism.

Screw Plasma - Laser TV's are on the way. Should be here in 2007. THey will display 90% of the color spectrum as you can see with your eyes. Current LCD's only do 30%. Black levels should be good too since I don't think they need a backlight.

Plasma TVs were just an example of how prices come down. I have no particular love for them, or LCDs.

I hear ya. One of my relatives just bought a 52" Sony. The dithering on the thing is enough to drive you nuts! Its a pretty damn ugly picture! Color is ugly too. I can even notice lag in it.
