Fall 1940, type IX, using GW
Yesterday I chased down a conjoy with 3 large tankers, going in, firing 4 torps, sneaking out, over and over again. Problem was, each of the tanker could take 4 torps without sinking. So I used up 15 torpedoes for 3 tankers...
Today, being assinged to a grind in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the atlantic I found myself bored, not seen a single ship, so I headed for Canada. 150km from halifax i got a radio message: large convoy moving at 7 knots, right towards me. I quikly calculated I didnt need to move a meter, I would be in the middle of it, so i just submerged and waited.
As the convoy aproched I saw the biggest ships were an auxilary cruiser, a large tanker and a large cargo. Problem was the cruiser was in the corner of the convoy and i was in the middle, and with several smaller merchants running between us i couldnt get a clear shot, but i tried setting torpedo depth to 8,5m and pistol to impact, hoping the 2 TII (with 1 degree angle) would go under the smaller ones and hit the keel of the cruiser. One hit a medium cargo half on the way, blowing it up and sinking it imidiately. The convoy started sicksacking, and the other one hit the cruiser pretty far back, and BOOM, blowing it to pieces. While these two were on the way, i fired one at the large tanker, aiming at the back, hoping i atleast wouldnt need to chase it this time, and one at a small merchant. Torp for tanker hit far aft, probobly hitting the engine because for the third time within two minutes it was destroyed imidiately. Omg! The last aft shot missed it targets, but, (i know its insane but its true) hit a tramp steamer, and unbelivible, sinking it with one hit!!
Yesterday: 15 torps for 3 tankers
Today: 4 torps for 1 cruiser, 1 tanker and 2 merchants... how likely is that?
