1/6/99 I am looking for information about a submarine that operated as an attack sub in the Atlantic in the final stages of WW II. It was designated O-8. My late father in law was exec when it was decomissioned, and we have the battle flag. Any help with its history would be appreciated.

He was an EN2 on the Salmon in the mid sixties(when we became the first navy vessel to win the battle efficiency E seven years in a row) Red got out and went to work at Mare Island as a shipfitter. You found strong coffee and a warm smile from the family that lived there. It was the Frank and Gloria Fournier house. This house was a home away from home for a lot of us.Two of Frank and Gloria's girls even married sub sailors. It is my sad duty at this time to report the passing of Gloria Fournier. 1/26/99 Served aboard the USS Daniel Webster 626 Gold crew from march 1972 to November 1974 made 5 patrols and don't know how I did it. But wouldn't have missed it in the world! Can still remember the Seabees sinking the bulldozer on the beach in Guam! Known back then as Maddog, TM2SS. in Charge of the room for 2 patrols.
