Well since Neal asked I have started work on this. Fortunately it isn't a playable so I don't have to add hatches et al.
I still have some stuff to do and details to add but shouldn't be too much to do.

Looks simply marvelous. And accurate to the tee.

I really don't see what else is left to add... perhaps the wide aparture array bulges, though in a lot of the Virginia pictures that I've seen around the internet they are too subtle to even perceive sometimes.
Hmm.... perhaps the Hight Frequency Sonar Dome on the bow is a little bit too far back from the nose. If you look at some closeups of the ship you'll see that the dome isn't in line with the ventral hull level, but sits a little higher because its a little more forward of the dome. Not a detail that would be worth worrying about unless your going for 100% accuracy just for kicks. Otherwise looks wonderful. ![]()

The WAA are quite noticeable funnily enough.
I have them made so easy to add. I will push some things about. The chin mounted sonar I can move. Once it is painted you could put it into DW, you could replace the Seawolf model. Infact just like in Sub Command you could create a new unit albeit by sacrificing an existing one you could do it with DW. I'd sacrifice the 688i as you get the VLS tubes. You then swap around some dlls so that the sonar and ship control displays are the same. You'd have to leave 688i fire control to get to the VLS. Probable the easiest controllable legal playable swap that you could do. |

Its looking realy good but cant you just put the seawolfs inside into the SSN 744? or is that just way to big a project?

Huh, what do you mean.
You can't use the Seawolf as there is not VLS in its interface and loadout. |

Yes, very true. You pick up the VLS capability but you lose 4 horizontal tubes. Can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm trying to think of any real difference between the 688i and the VA in terms of what the displays should show....
... the only thing that I can really think of is that the VA sonar should have the same WAA ranging and RAP LOC that the SW has and that's not found on the 688i display... though in RL the 688i has those capabilities just not shown ingame.

688's dont have WAA or anything like that. Virginia class sonar is nothing like the seawolf. VA class has a lot more processing power and is quite a bit better than the Seawolf..

Looks like the Russians have already been redoing the control stations as was done for a few vessels in SCX SCU.

Just been and had a read through the sukhoi.ru forum and I see they have been quite busy swapping stuff out and creating new interfaces. I wonder how that one for the Oscar works?
I might join and ask a few questions. |

What Works For Oscar ? Missiles?
I not Created 24 Silos, simply clone dlls data from Akulas, and reloaded new weapons - nuclears SHIPWRECK & STARFISH also presented But Akulas Playable. I Can Added To Oscar, 12 VLS Silos From LA, But I Lost 4 Torp Tubes For This Action. This Is Bad Events... My Database Extremely Extended From Original Game Version... Many Units Good Work - Ohio SSBN, Alfa, Bear, Helix. "Virginia" Come Up Some Near Days.
