Anyone else have an issue with lag/stutter using TC as your mission tonnage goes up?
Might be related also- it seems the saved game takes longer to fully load as the score goes up. New patrol, 2048 books right along; Bag a few, 1024 tc is max smooth. RAM issue? |

Mine does the same thing !! if i sink alot of merchants , it gets a little buggy... But i like it because it does the same thing when i approach a convoy. So i immediately drop the tc to 1x , order periscope depth and go to the hydrophone room to hear for contacts !!! it's kind of helpful.I don't know if i have a slow machine , it's p4 2.8ghz , 1256 ram , fx5600xt

It is a ram/cpu-issue.

I get a little stutter when nearing a convoy. However, last night I was being stalked by a Catalina. I couldn't get TC above 8. At 16 the frame rate would crash and I couldn't get the game to accept any input. After pounding on the - key for about 30 seconds I got the TC to drop back down. (I tried shooting it down, but I couldn't seem to kill it.)
Anyone else have problems like that? Another thing that makes me crazy. I have it set to drop TC to 1 when a ship is detected, but when flanking a convoy, it just keeps going off. I wish there was a temporary overide. I have resorted to sending the sonarman to his bunk sometimes to keep his chatter from making me crazy. -D

@ darksun: You can change the max tc in SH3 commander... that might take care of some of your problems...
I seem to have the same shutter problems problems a described earlier: spins like a kitten, then on tc 1024 it skips 3 minutes on gametime, and i know there is bait nearby. Another question for those who know their PC stuff: If you have Hyperthreading tech on your CPU, i have p4 3 Ghz with HT, does SH3 only use one side of the chip? So the game thinks i only have a 1.5 Ghz? Logic doesn't help me here, so i you can, please do! thx, Garrincha |
