Default Sierra Fast Attack

I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to get the old Sierra Fast Attack game to work on Windows XP. I can't get the program to even install even in command line.

Now that is a game from a while back with it's sleek looking cut scenese when your torpedoe impatcs the target. Honestly I haven't played that game since my Win 95 days and have no idea how to get it to run with XP. Good luck.

It works great on my laptop but locks up at different times in the game on my desk top. Could never figure out why. I thought it was a mouse issue somebody else said it was a sound issue. :hmm:

Fast Attack is without a doubt my favorite modern subsim. (Sorry DW ) It had a spectacular interface and the best scripted missons I've ever played in a sim. I know that dynamic missions are all the rage these days but there is something to be said for a great scripted campaign. Unfortunately I never was ever to play the entire game, it was as unstable as just about any other game I've ever played.

I remeber this game, i played it for yonks! If ive got it right wasn't this the game where the missions had a 2hr timelimit - best modern subsim until sub commander & dw came along.

Correct on the 2 hour time limit, but John found a fix for that, check the Tactics section.

FA was my first modern sub game and a gift from a girl friend but I could never finished this game, in the middle of the campaign (mission 20 ?) the game crashed to desktop because of loading corrupt mission data from the CD. I had returned the CD to the publisher and had gotten a new one but these had however the same error

Neal, the "Time Fix" for fast Attack seems to be not present. I get a 404 error if i try to Download it.

And if i try the "Right Click Manuver" i end up with a Corrupt File.

I'm all for a Fast Attack 2.0, who's with me? Sierra is still around- and making excellent games (The Swat series) Why not make a new FA? (I know I'm only dreaming but they really were on to something with Fast Attack)

This a game where the plotting board ruled when it came to torpedo evasion. I have tried to use a notepad with titles like DW and SC, but it isn't the same. I like DW but FA tops out for me as a Subsim in the modern era.
