MIA saves

Hi all,

I have a technical question - the search function seems to be down so my apologies if someone already asked this

. I also checked the community manual and the troubleshooting thread.

My problem is this: last night after playing, I used save & exit to quit. When I tried to load my savegame today, nothing appears in the saved games screen

. I checked in the my documents folder (\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\Reinhard Karl\0) and my 4 saves still exist as far as I can tell. At the bottom of the in-game screen it says I'm dead, probably normal because I didn't return to base (100% realism).

I use SH3Commander, which tells me I'm 'at sea during patrol 1' (I wish) - patch 1.4 and GW 1.1. This isn't the first time I've encountered this problem, but it's really starting to bug me... . Would anyone happen to know a solution?

My theory is that is must be the combination of 100% realism and save & exit, but it looks like no one knows...

At the load save screen (which should be empty) simply hit enter

It will load your save. Not sure what causes it though.

I have a same problem, I'll try today with magical "Enter" key like Grey October said.

Who know's what the reason for this?

Thanks for posting. I tried today using SH3Commander and without, but it didn't work

. Maybe poor sailor will have better luck...

When I finished my first patrol and return to base, and than exit game, load SH3 commander and do the job with medal and qualification crew and when I again start the game in my career I have only New career and Saved game option, I don't have continue career for example. I wondering what happened with this? :hmm: I use GW 1.1 and SH3 commander and my settings is 100% realism.

Wasn't continue career removed in the SH3 patches? What version do you use?

I use SH3 1.4b with GW 1.1. I didn't knew that this option has been removed with latest patch or earlier because I'm in the begining play with stock SH3 game without patches and that option has been present. Anyway, thank you for this information, I was not solved the problem with the blank load screen, I start new career, I hope so that somebody know's what is about.

Yeah, me too... it must be the third time it occurs. I'm going to steer clear from the 'save & exit' option for a while, who knows
