Question about SHIII Commander

Hello! I use to travel in the last car if talking about mods. But now I have started a new career via Cmdr. At this moment I'm somewhere on AN66 heading to oparea AN81. There has been a rough weather for couple of days, so I'm a little bit worried about my fuel economics. I wonder if the bad weather won't get any better, I might be forced to go to Wilhelmshaven and not to Kiel which is my home base. But is it possible to change "Days in base" -factor in middle of the career via Cmdr without having any troubles? I'm now using random option for that but I would like to manually adjust my Days in base in case I have to go to Wilhelmshaven. Can I do it and when should I do it? After I have docked in or before?

Yes, you can change the days in base without a problem. I do it when docking at a resupply ship or milk cow. Then change back to random after leaving.

Do it after docking and exiting SH3. Start Commander and change days in base, then launch SH3. When docking back in Kiel repeat the process to get back to random days.
