Default Most fruitful enemy ports?

I have the IUB mod installed and i also use SH3 Commander and before i start searching every port i wanted to ask what players experience have been in finding enemy ports with decent ships docked.

I checked up near Scapa Flow but all i found was a bunch of destroyers, nothing to rave about. I do have the list that tells you when and where capital ships are docked but i was more interested in finding harbors where convoys are preparing to leave.

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the info i will check those out soon enough, i recently installed IUB and had to start a new campaign from scratch. I am getting a little tired of continually running into damn trawlers/fishing boat/tug boats which arent even worth me bothering to waste a shell on let alone an eel. It's nice to have a little list of the good hunting harbors.

I am only using IuB and SH3 Commander (which doesnt add ships) only. It seems that not every port will be populated with ships although i think you have a better chance to bag some at actual ports than psuedo ones. What i mean by that is zoom in on the port your thinking about entering, If you see a harbor area you will have a better chance of spotting ships than at the ones when you zoom in on would only have the red dot and not an actual "built-up" harbor.

I went to Hartlepool in 11-1939 as suggested and found and sunk 2 C2 Cargo ships a coastal merchant, 1 Flower Corvette and a V & W Destroyer. There was also a small coastal vessel which i let be and a 2nd Flower Corvette that was inside the netted area and was obstruced behind a light house so i was unable to nick it with a couple of torp. Even moving back to 3000M and surfacing to fire some shells from the deck gun failed to get a reaction other than it continuing to ping me.

Hope this helps, good hunting

If your ever sent down to the Capetown South Africa area for a patrol, take a spin in the harbor, timeline for me was late 1942. Lightly defended and you should find a T2, a C2, and 1-2 other merchants. Went there 2 times and the ships were there.

One of the patches, I think 1.4, put ships in (some) harbors. One of my favorites is Curacao. There are always ships there, and the harbor is 300m deep. It's a long ride to get there though.
