Default WWII German newsreels - 20mm AA gun sounds

Hi everyone,

If your a fan of the German newsreels from WWII, like I am, you've heard the sounds of the 20mm flak guns. They had a sound that you knew it was 20mm. The scene in "Saving Private Ryan" where they hold the town and Germans move up the 20mm AA gun is the closest recreation. I've only seen a couple of Combat Mission sound mods use this. I'd like to have my WHAP!..WHAP!..WHAP!..WHAP! sound, especially with the quad 20mm. Like this: 20mm AA Can one of you mod guys do this for me?

Wow, I'm surprised - mine actually sounds a lot like that - and with a very easy fix

What I did was, in Silent Hunter III/data/Sound replace the file P02_$MGun_muzzle_flash.wav with a copy of P19_@AAGun_explosion.wav. It does have a rather similar ring to it I think, when fired multiple times.

There are also custom sound mods for the flak, but often "non-native" sounds from the game cause it to crash, so I avoid them - and this, I thought, is a good way to simulate it.
