How to "complete a patro"l?

I have done three patrols in my career. Each time I return to base, Wilhelmshaven, and dock, then I exit (escape)to the menu and select dock at Wilhelmshaven. When I go to hand out medals, the U-Boot war badge is unavailable with the text, "you must complete a patrol". What am I doing wrong?

Hey McBeck ! Finally got to play, great game.

My problem is not quite the same as what is in the other thread. I have not been awarded the war badge( perhaps the patrols sucked ! ) yet. Am I ending the patrol correctly by docking, hitting escape and selecting the "dock at ...." option?

That is ur answer right there "( perhaps the patrols sucked ! )" - I'm not being a smart arse btw its just that ur are correct. To get a completed patrol to recieve the War Badge, u need to have patroled ur grid for 24h and SINK more than 50 000 Tons ( If I recall correctly) all in the same patrol. These two factors govern the War Badge.

What about the clasp? I've always found it aggravating that my crew get them before I do. It's even possible they may get the war badge before I do. I find it mildly insulting :P
