I was driving along in my FFG with my happy little Expeditionary Strike Group through the Straight of Tiran when the DDG in the formation drove smack into a reef! WHY?!?!?! We've got fathometers! Why won't the AI use them? Are there any good tricks for making formations that won't maneuver strangely?

make a script named init, automatic, starting from the start of game
and calling a script named initscript in initscript : - set pathfinding for (all platform susceptible to need this) - set collision avoidance for (all platform susceptible to need this) should reduct drastly this kind of problem. |

IF you lead a group, don't forget they will always try to stay at the same position.
And if you turn, this gonna make a big problems for them, as they will try to keep the same formation. So it is your job to manage that if you lead the formation, and to use a good path to avoid collision. But if you use this for AI only (without leading the group yourself), it works more than 90% of time. I use it on all my missions, so I know it works, I saw many times the collision avoidance and pathfinding effects on AI course. want some examples ? => edit missions inside this folder http://okof4.free.fr/missions/DW/ |
