Periscope/Uzo view more like binocs view possible?

After playing the game for a couple weeks I've come to the conclusion that the Periscope and Uzo views are too small for my less then great eyesight.

I much prefer the binocular view. Devoting the whole screen to the view as opposed to 60-70% in the peri/uzo is much better for my eyes. I know you have to have the notepad section to manually plot attacks (which I do), but I was wondering if it's possible to mod the views so you can zoom in to where the screen is completely devoted to what's in the viewfinder.

I know that you can add the command to zoom to 10x, which I have begun using but the size of the actual view is still on the smallish side IMO.
