Default British minefields

Hi,
special question for experienced Kaleuns (in RUb1.43).
I m angry because my sub (type IIA, november 1939, third patrol) has just sunk instantly without warning off the British coast in the vicinity of Hull (exactly around AN5977 if my Kriegsmarine charts are respected by SH3). could someone confirm there is a minefield there, I have no explanation about what may have happened (I was at TC128, one third).
thanks for the information (I exclude planes and enemy vessels, I just got a "we are taking damage" message, i lost my batteries part of my crew resting was killed and then all hell broke loose....)

Yes, there's minefields off the east coast of Britain in RUb 1.43/Ops. As historically, of course - they were in fact based on maps of real minefields laid there

Good question antidotos. We had gone to great lengths to attain information on where the major allied minefields were and when they were there. The minefields are as accurate as can be determined, and in no cases are there any that did not exist

U-12, U-16 & U-40 were lost in October 1939 in the Dover Straights.

German U-Boat Losses During World War II - Details of Destruction by Axel Niestlé says that there were only 7 to sea mines. Where as U-boat net says there were 35. On top of these figures there are 72 listed as missing.

Anyway, the mines will be making an appearence in a enemy harbour near you soon!

thanks for the precisions,
mines have always been a plague in naval operations. While not very attractive gamewise (the sudden death syndrome) they are indispensable if we want realism.
