I think Xabba made a whole bunch of Gas Carriers and merchant traffic - but I don't know if they were lost in a HD crash or whatever...

All I want is a tug boat, to escort my boat out of port and to meet me when I return
And, the harbor buoys that are in SCX would also be nice

Bill post a pic (or even better three view drawings) of the tug (with ship particulars) you want, and I will see what I can do...
You want basic buoys? Red Nuns, Green Cans, and a Seabuoy do ??? Cheers Beer

Bill don't you have the Tug I made, it was in SCX I think.
The problem is the way that each time you add a new vessel you would need to send the whole modified DB too. That would be fine but there are a couple of modded dbases around at the moment so it could pose problems. That was what was/is good about SCX is that it all came in one great pakage. EDIT Just found my Tug model and it is in J3D so if someone wants to add it to the dbase then that is fine. Let me know here and I'll post it on. |

Ahhh a new Chouest Tractor Tug...we use Chouest Supply boats for our drillship...
One problem this modding community has is there is not any tutorials of how bring in new models. Things that need to be known is Units used in Max for proper exporting for scale and How to mod the DB's to get them to work. The only thing to show up is the exporter with no notes concerning its use. Other issues that need to be known are mesh names to duplicate animations reconigned by the game, as well as DB entries to get the animations to work. How about a tutorial from one of the SCX experts on bringing an object in, such as a buoy or a tugboat...once some see how it is done, maybe more modding will get done. I am not talking about how to make a model in Max, plenty of that is available...what is needed is a basic DB modding given a new platform. Cheers Beer
