Problem with patch 1.3 (Resolved)

Hi, I'm U-104

and this is my first post ever!
Anyway, to the point...when I downloaded and tried to install patch version 1.3, it rejected it saying it was an unknown version

. Has anyone encountered this problem before and do you know how to fix it?

Hello and welcome!

You have probably downloaded the wrong version. There are four different versions: Two for EMEA (DVD or Downloaded version) and two for US (DVD or Downloaded version).

Thanks for the speedy reply. I did download the US DVD version, but for some reason it still told me it would not accept it. I had to put the patch on a CD and move it from one computer to another. Maybe that's why it won't accept it.

Do you have any mods installed? The patch needs to be installed over a fresh version.

I did have the grammaphone music installed from the download section. But before I tried to install the patch I re-installed SH3 and got rid of the music.

Are you sure that you have the US DVD version? I mean, in Australia for example they sold the EMEA version...

WhatÂ´s the exact error message?

this is what it told me {this program cannot update the installed version of silent hunter III us dvd v1.0 to v1.3 because of the following reason: C:\Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\de_menu.txt: unknown version.} I'm pretty sure I have the US version DVD because that is what the computer told me.

The installer always says that when you try to install the US patch, even when you have the EMEA version.

Am I right that we are actually talking about patch v1.4? Because 1.4 says that it is 1.3, but thatÂ´s a known bug.

Btw why 1.3?
Is there a reason not to install the 1.4 patch?

yes 1.4 the website told me it was 1.4 but when the comp told me 1.3 I figured the website named it wrong

ItÂ´s a stupid bug, it really caused some confusion when the patch came out...

Ok... Well, download the EMEA patch and try again.

I was sitting around doing nothing, so I decided why tomorrow, why not today? So I downloaded the EMEA patch and you were right, it works great
