Flak guns destroyed after upgrading

I recently upgraded my sub from a VIIB to a VIIC and now at the start of every patrol I get a message that my flak gun (double 20mm) is destroyed. Is this a known problem? I searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer right away.

I had the same problem when using one of the big flak conning towers, (I do recall it was the best tower that still let you have a deck gun). I had no mods other than some skins, never did find the solution. Ended up using a different conning tower.
