Radio? Names of merchant ships

Ok, so there's a file with names of merchant ships.

I've seen people say their radioman can catch the SOS from a sinking merchant.

My question is -- how? I've never seen this. Is it RuB? A radio mod? Or am I just not seeing it?

Some radio mods include scripted reports from sinking merchant ships; however, these are not triggered by actual in-game events.

Yep, this is part of radiolog heavy, which you can check out on my sig.

Agree, radiolog is excellent thing. Just intercepted an SSS signal. It`s just fifth day of the patrol and I`ve received quite a dozen of messages. After all these silent, no message patrols it MAKES a difference
